Cumple la directiva RoHS. En t\u00e9rminos sencillos, la OSP es una fina pel\u00edcula org\u00e1nica que crece sobre una superficie de cobre limpia y desnuda mediante un proceso qu\u00edmico. Esta pel\u00edcula protege el cobre de la oxidaci\u00f3n, los golpes de calor y la humedad. Evita que el cobre se oxide o sulfure en condiciones normales. Al mismo tiempo, la pel\u00edcula debe ser f\u00e1cil de eliminar r\u00e1pidamente mediante fundente durante la soldadura a alta temperatura. De este modo, el cobre limpio que hay debajo puede adherirse r\u00e1pidamente a la soldadura fundida y formar una uni\u00f3n fuerte.<\/p><p data-start=\"616\" data-end=\"994\">A medida que los productos electr\u00f3nicos se hacen m\u00e1s ligeros, m\u00e1s finos, m\u00e1s cortos, m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os y m\u00e1s funcionales, las placas de circuito impreso avanzan hacia una mayor precisi\u00f3n, perfiles m\u00e1s finos, m\u00e1s capas y orificios m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os. El SMT ha evolucionado r\u00e1pidamente. SMT utiliza placas delgadas de alta densidad en dispositivos como tarjetas IC, tel\u00e9fonos m\u00f3viles, ordenadores port\u00e1tiles y sintonizadores. El nivelado de soldadura por aire caliente (HASL) resulta entonces menos adecuado para estas necesidades.<\/p><p data-start=\"616\" data-end=\"994\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2840\" src=\"https:\/\/flj-pcb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/OSP-PCB.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/flj-pcb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/OSP-PCB.webp 500w, https:\/\/flj-pcb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/OSP-PCB-300x225.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p><p data-start=\"996\" data-end=\"1282\">Al mismo tiempo, las soldaduras Sn-Pb utilizadas en HASL no son ecol\u00f3gicas. Desengrasado<\/h3><p data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1922\">Un buen desengrasado afecta directamente a la calidad de la pel\u00edcula. Si el desengrasado es malo, el grosor de la pel\u00edcula ser\u00e1 desigual. Para mantener un desengrase estable, controle la concentraci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica del limpiador dentro del intervalo del proceso. Compruebe tambi\u00e9n a menudo el rendimiento del desengrase. Si el desengrase es deficiente, cambie el limpiador a tiempo.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"1924\" data-end=\"1940\">2. Micrograbado<\/h3><p data-start=\"1941\" data-end=\"2293\">El micrograbado hace que la superficie de cobre sea ligeramente rugosa. Esto favorece la adhesi\u00f3n de la pel\u00edcula. El grosor del micrograbado afecta a la velocidad de formaci\u00f3n de la pel\u00edcula. Para obtener un espesor de pel\u00edcula estable, mantenga estable la profundidad del micrograbado. Suele ser adecuado mantenerla en torno a 1,0-1,5 \u03bcm. Puede medir la velocidad de micrograbado antes de cada cambio y, a continuaci\u00f3n, ajustar el tiempo de micrograbado seg\u00fan esa velocidad.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"2295\" data-end=\"2315\">3. Formaci\u00f3n de la pel\u00edcula<\/h3><p data-start=\"2316\" data-end=\"2915\">Antes de la formaci\u00f3n de la pel\u00edcula, enjuague con agua desionizada para evitar contaminar la soluci\u00f3n de la pel\u00edcula. Despu\u00e9s de la formaci\u00f3n de la pel\u00edcula, vuelva a enjuagar con agua desionizada. Mantenga el pH del agua de aclarado entre 4,0 y 7,0 para evitar que la capa de pel\u00edcula se contamine o se da\u00f1e. Controlar el espesor de la pel\u00edcula OSP es la clave. Si la pel\u00edcula es demasiado fina, tiene poca resistencia al choque t\u00e9rmico. Durante el reflujo, es posible que la pel\u00edcula no sobreviva a las altas temperaturas (alrededor de 190-200 \u00b0C). El rendimiento de la soldadura disminuye. En la cadena de montaje, la pel\u00edcula debe ser f\u00e1cil de disolver. De lo contrario, la soldadura se resentir\u00e1. Un objetivo com\u00fan de grosor de pel\u00edcula es de 0,2-0,5 \u03bcm.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"2917\" data-end=\"2937\">Notas sobre la pel\u00edcula OSP<\/h3><p data-start=\"2938\" data-end=\"3204\">Las pel\u00edculas OSP son muy finas y pueden rayarse o frotarse con facilidad. Manipule las placas con cuidado durante la producci\u00f3n y el transporte. Adem\u00e1s, tras muchos ciclos de soldadura a alta temperatura, la pel\u00edcula OSP de los pads no utilizados puede decolorarse o agrietarse. Esto afecta a la soldabilidad y la fiabilidad.<\/p><h2 data-start=\"3206\" data-end=\"3258\">Requisitos de producci\u00f3n de PCB para el acabado superficial OSP<\/h2><p data-start=\"3260\" data-end=\"3328\">A continuaci\u00f3n se indican las normas de producci\u00f3n y manipulaci\u00f3n para mantener la fiabilidad de las placas OSP.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"3330\" data-end=\"3372\">A. Normas generales de producci\u00f3n y almacenamiento<\/h3><ol data-start=\"3373\" data-end=\"4958\"><li data-start=\"3373\" data-end=\"3575\"><p data-start=\"3376\" data-end=\"3575\">Las placas de circuito impreso con OSP deben llegar en envases al vac\u00edo. Incluya un desecante y una tarjeta indicadora de humedad. Durante el transporte y el almacenamiento, coloque papel aislante entre las placas para evitar da\u00f1os por fricci\u00f3n en la OSP.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"3577\" data-end=\"3755\"><p data-start=\"3580\" data-end=\"3755\">No exponga los tableros a la luz solar directa. Mantenga un entorno de almac\u00e9n adecuado. Humedad relativa (HR): 30-70%. Temperatura ambiente: 15-30 \u00b0C. La vida \u00fatil de almacenamiento debe ser inferior a 6 meses.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"3757\" data-end=\"4119\"><p data-start=\"3760\" data-end=\"4119\">Al desprecintar la placa en la estaci\u00f3n SMT, compruebe el envasado al vac\u00edo, el desecante y la tarjeta de humedad. Si fallan, devuelva las placas al fabricante de placas de circuito impreso para que las revise antes de utilizarlas. Coloque la placa en la l\u00ednea en las 8 horas siguientes a su apertura. No abra muchos paquetes a la vez. Siga la regla \u201cabra seg\u00fan sea necesario, produzca seg\u00fan sea necesario\u201d. Una exposici\u00f3n prolongada provoca defectos de soldadura por lotes.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"4121\" data-end=\"4288\"><p data-start=\"4124\" data-end=\"4288\">Despu\u00e9s de la impresi\u00f3n por estarcido, pase las planchas r\u00e1pidamente al horno. No las deje reposar. La espera m\u00e1xima es de 1 hora. El fundente de la pasta de soldadura puede corroer fuertemente la pel\u00edcula OSP.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"4290\" data-end=\"4363\"><p data-start=\"4293\" data-end=\"4363\">Mantenga estable el entorno del taller. HR 40-60%. Temperatura 18-27 \u00b0C.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"4365\" data-end=\"4475\"><p data-start=\"4368\" data-end=\"4475\">Durante la producci\u00f3n, evite tocar la superficie de la placa de circuito impreso con las manos desnudas. El sudor y la grasa de la piel pueden provocar oxidaci\u00f3n.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"4477\" data-end=\"4556\"><p data-start=\"4480\" data-end=\"4556\">Si realiza primero el SMT de una cara, termine el SMT de la segunda cara antes de 12 horas.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"4558\" data-end=\"4638\"><p data-start=\"4561\" data-end=\"4638\">Tras el SMT, termine la inserci\u00f3n del DIP lo antes posible, en 24 horas como m\u00e1ximo.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"4640\" data-end=\"4728\"><p data-start=\"4643\" data-end=\"4728\">No hornee placas OSP h\u00famedas. El horneado a alta temperatura puede decolorar o degradar la OSP.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"4730\" data-end=\"4958\"><p data-start=\"4734\" data-end=\"4958\">Las placas no utilizadas que est\u00e9n vencidas, h\u00famedas o limpias despu\u00e9s de defectos de impresi\u00f3n deben ser devueltas al fabricante de la placa para ser retrabajadas con OSP. No repase la misma tarjeta m\u00e1s de tres veces con OSP. Despu\u00e9s de tres repasos, deseche la tarjeta.<\/p><\/li><\/ol><h3 data-start=\"4960\" data-end=\"5005\">B. Reglas de dise\u00f1o de est\u00e9nciles SMT para tarjetas OSP<\/h3><ol data-start=\"5006\" data-end=\"5820\"><li data-start=\"5006\" data-end=\"5257\"><p data-start=\"5009\" data-end=\"5257\">Las placas OSP son planas. Esto ayuda a dar forma a la pasta de soldadura. Pero los pads OSP no pueden suministrar soldadura extra como podr\u00eda hacer HASL. As\u00ed que hay que agrandar ligeramente las aperturas del est\u00e9ncil. Esto ayuda a garantizar que la soldadura cubra todo el pad. Al pasar de HASL a OSP, hay que redise\u00f1ar el est\u00e9ncil.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"5259\" data-end=\"5446\"><p data-start=\"5262\" data-end=\"5446\">Una vez ampliada la abertura, para evitar la formaci\u00f3n de bolas de soldadura, tombstoning y cobre expuesto, cambie la forma del orificio del est\u00e9ncil a un dise\u00f1o \u201cc\u00f3ncavo\u201d. Esto ayuda a evitar la formaci\u00f3n de bolas de soldadura.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"5448\" data-end=\"5571\"><p data-start=\"5451\" data-end=\"5571\">Si falla la colocaci\u00f3n de un componente y falta la pieza, aseg\u00farese de que la pasta de soldadura sigue cubriendo la almohadilla en la medida de lo posible.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"5573\" data-end=\"5820\"><p data-start=\"5576\" data-end=\"5820\">Para evitar la oxidaci\u00f3n del cobre expuesto y los problemas de fiabilidad, considere la posibilidad de imprimir pasta de soldadura en los puntos de prueba ICT, los orificios de los tornillos de montaje y las almohadillas de las v\u00edas expuestas (la parte posterior se puede soldar por ola). Aseg\u00farese de incluir estos orificios durante el dise\u00f1o del est\u00e9ncil.<\/p><\/li><\/ol><h3 data-start=\"5822\" data-end=\"5871\">C. Manipulaci\u00f3n de placas con mala impresi\u00f3n de pasta de soldadura<\/h3><ol data-start=\"5872\" data-end=\"6513\"><li data-start=\"5872\" data-end=\"5940\"><p data-start=\"5875\" data-end=\"5940\">Intente evitar errores de impresi\u00f3n. La limpieza da\u00f1ar\u00e1 la capa OSP.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"5942\" data-end=\"6299\"><p data-start=\"5945\" data-end=\"6299\">Si una placa tiene una mala impresi\u00f3n de la pasta de soldadura, no empape ni lave las placas OSP con disolventes de alta volatilidad. Debido a que la pel\u00edcula OSP es f\u00e1cil de ser consumida por disolventes org\u00e1nicos, utilice un pa\u00f1o no tejido empapado en etanol 75% para limpiar la pasta. A continuaci\u00f3n, utilice un soplador de aire para secar. No utilice alcohol isoprop\u00edlico (IPA) para limpiar. No utilice un cuchillo raspador para eliminar la pasta.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"6301\" data-end=\"6385\"><p data-start=\"6304\" data-end=\"6385\">Despu\u00e9s de limpiar un defecto de impresi\u00f3n, termine el trabajo SMT en esa cara en el plazo de 1 hora.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"6387\" data-end=\"6513\"><p data-start=\"6390\" data-end=\"6513\">Para grandes lotes de defectos de impresi\u00f3n (por ejemplo, 20 piezas o m\u00e1s), devu\u00e9lvalos al fabricante de placas de circuito impreso para que los repase de forma centralizada.<\/p><\/li><\/ol><h2 data-start=\"6515\" data-end=\"6562\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 caracter\u00edsticas tiene la OSP en el montaje SMT?<\/h2><p data-start=\"6564\" data-end=\"7249\">Las placas OSP necesitan un almacenamiento y una manipulaci\u00f3n estrictos. Desde el momento en que se abre el envase al vac\u00edo hasta el primer reflujo o hasta el momento posterior al primer reflujo, el tiempo de permanencia debe controlarse estrictamente. De lo contrario, la calidad del segundo reflujo se ver\u00e1 afectada. Despu\u00e9s de un ciclo de reflujo, la pel\u00edcula protectora org\u00e1nica de la superficie de la placa de circuito impreso suele destruirse y la placa pierde la protecci\u00f3n contra la oxidaci\u00f3n. Por lo tanto, el segundo reflujo es m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil. Adem\u00e1s, el acabado superficial OSP tiende a tener una peor humectaci\u00f3n de la pasta de soldadura que otros acabados. Las juntas de soldadura pueden exponer el cobre y la fiabilidad puede caer. El aspecto de la soldadura puede no cumplir f\u00e1cilmente la norma IPC Clase 3. Muchos productos que utilizan pin-in-paste (PIP) no son compatibles con OSP.<\/p><p data-start=\"7251\" data-end=\"7422\">Pero las placas OSP son planas y planiformes. La fabricaci\u00f3n de las placas es estable y su coste es bajo. Comparado con otros, el OSP tiene claras ventajas. Por eso, muchas empresas siguen prefiriendo el acabado OSP.<\/p><h2 data-start=\"7424\" data-end=\"7448\">Ventajas del proceso OSP<\/h2><ol data-start=\"7449\" data-end=\"7711\"><li data-start=\"7449\" data-end=\"7480\"><p data-start=\"7452\" data-end=\"7480\">Bajo coste de montaje SMT.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"7481\" data-end=\"7513\"><p data-start=\"7484\" data-end=\"7513\">Alta resistencia de la uni\u00f3n soldada.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"7514\" data-end=\"7561\"><p data-start=\"7517\" data-end=\"7561\">Buena soldabilidad si se manipula correctamente.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"7562\" data-end=\"7617\"><p data-start=\"7565\" data-end=\"7617\">Superficie plana adecuada para el dise\u00f1o de almohadillas de alta densidad.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"7618\" data-end=\"7692\"><p data-start=\"7621\" data-end=\"7692\">Compatible con acabados superficiales mixtos (ENIG selectivo, por ejemplo).<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"7693\" data-end=\"7711\"><p data-start=\"7696\" data-end=\"7711\">F\u00e1cil de reelaborar.<\/p><\/li><\/ol><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2841\" src=\"https:\/\/flj-pcb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Six-layer-OSP-protected-through-hole-PCB.webp\" alt=\"Six-layer OSP-protected through-hole PCB\" width=\"600\" height=\"420\" srcset=\"https:\/\/flj-pcb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Six-layer-OSP-protected-through-hole-PCB.webp 600w, https:\/\/flj-pcb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Six-layer-OSP-protected-through-hole-PCB-300x210.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p><h2 data-start=\"7713\" data-end=\"7740\">Desventajas del proceso OSP<\/h2><ol data-start=\"7741\" data-end=\"8305\"><li data-start=\"7741\" data-end=\"7808\"><p data-start=\"7744\" data-end=\"7808\">Mayor resistencia de contacto. Esto puede afectar a las pruebas el\u00e9ctricas.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"7809\" data-end=\"7868\"><p data-start=\"7812\" data-end=\"7868\">No sirve para soldar agujeros pasantes mediante soldadura en l\u00ednea.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"7869\" data-end=\"8107\"><p data-start=\"7872\" data-end=\"8107\">Escasa estabilidad t\u00e9rmica y robustez del proceso. Despu\u00e9s de un reflujo a alta temperatura, no suele haber m\u00e1s protecci\u00f3n contra la oxidaci\u00f3n. La ventana de proceso es corta. Todos los pasos SMT posteriores a la primera soldadura deben finalizarse en 24 horas.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"8108\" data-end=\"8137\"><p data-start=\"8111\" data-end=\"8137\">No es resistente a la corrosi\u00f3n.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"8138\" data-end=\"8244\"><p data-start=\"8141\" data-end=\"8244\">Alta exigencia de precisi\u00f3n de impresi\u00f3n. La limpieza da\u00f1ar\u00e1 la pel\u00edcula OSP (los alcoholes y \u00e1cidos pueden degradar la OSP).<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"8245\" data-end=\"8305\"><p data-start=\"8248\" data-end=\"8305\">Rendimiento de soldadura deficiente en agujeros de soldadura por ola.<\/p><\/li><\/ol><h2 data-start=\"8307\" data-end=\"8364\">Consejos pr\u00e1cticos para utilizar tarjetas OSP en una cadena de montaje<\/h2><ul data-start=\"8366\" data-end=\"9357\"><li data-start=\"8366\" data-end=\"8488\"><p data-start=\"8368\" data-end=\"8488\">Consiga siempre las placas OSP en envases al vac\u00edo con desecante y una tarjeta de humedad. Abra los paquetes de uno en uno. Utilice las placas r\u00e1pidamente.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"8489\" data-end=\"8559\"><p data-start=\"8491\" data-end=\"8559\">Evite tocar las almohadillas expuestas. Utilice guantes o pinzas cuando sea necesario.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"8560\" data-end=\"8627\"><p data-start=\"8562\" data-end=\"8627\">Mantenga estable el entorno de montaje: HR 40-60%, temp 18-27 \u00b0C.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"8628\" data-end=\"8697\"><p data-start=\"8630\" data-end=\"8697\">No deje las placas impresas durante m\u00e1s de una hora antes del reflujo.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"8698\" data-end=\"8931\"><p data-start=\"8700\" data-end=\"8931\">Reduzca el tiempo entre el primer reflujo y los siguientes pasos del proceso. Intente terminar todos los procesos SMT en las 24 horas siguientes al primer reflujo. Almacene las placas refluidas en un armario seco si no puede evitar el retraso y siga las instrucciones de su proveedor de placas de circuito impreso.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"8932\" data-end=\"9111\"><p data-start=\"8934\" data-end=\"9111\">Si necesita limpiar defectos de la pasta, utilice etanol 75% en un pa\u00f1o no tejido. Limpiar suavemente. Seque con aire. No empapar. No utilice IPA ni disolventes fuertes. No raspar con una cuchilla.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"9112\" data-end=\"9239\"><p data-start=\"9114\" data-end=\"9239\">Dise\u00f1e est\u00e9nciles con aperturas ligeramente mayores para los pads OSP. That way the clean copper underneath can bond with molten solder fast and form a strong solder joint.<\\\/p><p data-start=\\\"616\\\" data-end=\\\"994\\\">As electronic products become lighter, thinner, shorter, smaller and more functional, circuit boards move toward higher precision, thinner profiles, more layers, and smaller holes. SMT has developed fast. SMT uses high-density thin boards in devices such as IC cards, mobile phones, laptops, and tuners. The micro-etch thickness affects the film formation rate. To get a stable film thickness, keep the micro-etch depth stable. Usually keeping it around 1.0\\u20131.5 \\u03bcm is appropriate. That affects solderability and reliability.<\\\/p><h2 data-start=\\\"3206\\\" data-end=\\\"3258\\\">PCB Production Requirements for OSP Surface Finish<\\\/h2><p data-start=\\\"3260\\\" data-end=\\\"3328\\\">Below are production and handling rules to keep OSP boards reliable.<\\\/p><h3 data-start=\\\"3330\\\" data-end=\\\"3372\\\">A. General production and storage rules<\\\/h3><ol data-start=\\\"3373\\\" data-end=\\\"4958\\\"><li data-start=\\\"3373\\\" data-end=\\\"3575\\\"><p data-start=\\\"3376\\\" data-end=\\\"3575\\\">PCBs with OSP should arrive in vacuum packaging. Include a desiccant and a humidity indicator card. During transit and storage, place isolation paper between boards to prevent friction damage to OSP.<\\\/p><\\\/li><li data-start=\\\"3577\\\" data-end=\\\"3755\\\"><p data-start=\\\"3580\\\" data-end=\\\"3755\\\">Do not expose boards to direct sunlight. SMT stencil design rules for OSP boards<\\\/h3><ol data-start=\\\"5006\\\" data-end=\\\"5820\\\"><li data-start=\\\"5006\\\" data-end=\\\"5257\\\"><p data-start=\\\"5009\\\" data-end=\\\"5257\\\">OSP boards are flat. That helps solder paste shape. But OSP pads cannot supply extra solder as HASL might. So enlarge stencil apertures slightly. This helps ensure solder covers the whole pad. When converting from HASL to OSP, redesign the stencil.<\\\/p><\\\/li><li data-start=\\\"5259\\\" data-end=\\\"5446\\\"><p data-start=\\\"5262\\\" data-end=\\\"5446\\\">After enlarging the aperture, deal with solder ball, tombstoning, and exposed copper by changing the stencil hole shape to a \\u201cconcave\\u201d design. Handling boards with bad solder paste print<\\\/h3><ol data-start=\\\"5872\\\" data-end=\\\"6513\\\"><li data-start=\\\"5872\\\" data-end=\\\"5940\\\"><p data-start=\\\"5875\\\" data-end=\\\"5940\\\">Try to avoid printing errors. Cleaning will damage the OSP layer.<\\\/p><\\\/li><li data-start=\\\"5942\\\" data-end=\\\"6299\\\"><p data-start=\\\"5945\\\" data-end=\\\"6299\\\">If a board has poor solder paste printing, do not soak or wash OSP boards with high-volatility solvents. Because the OSP film is easy to be eaten by organic solvents, use a non-woven cloth soaked in 75% ethanol to wipe off the paste. Then use an air blower to dry. Do not use isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to clean. From the time you open vacuum pack to the first reflow or to the time after the first reflow, the stay time must be controlled strictly. Otherwise the second reflow quality will be affected. After one reflow cycle, the organic protective film on the PCB surface is usually destroyed and the board loses oxidation protection. Then second reflow is harder. Also OSP surface finish tends to have poorer solder paste wetting than some other finishes. Solder joints can expose copper and reliability can fall. The solder appearance may not meet IPC Class 3 standard easily. At the same time, the film must be easy to remove quickly by flux during high-temperature soldering. That way the clean copper underneath can bond with molten solder fast and form a strong solder joint.<\/p><p data-start=\"616\" data-end=\"994\">As electronic products become lighter, thinner, shorter, smaller and more functional, circuit boards move toward higher precision, thinner profiles, more layers, and smaller holes. SMT has developed fast. SMT uses high-density thin boards in devices such as IC cards, mobile phones, laptops, and tuners. Hot air solder leveling (HASL) then becomes less suitable for these needs.<\/p><p data-start=\"616\" data-end=\"994\"><img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2840\" src=\"https:\/\/flj-pcb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/OSP-PCB.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p><p data-start=\"996\" data-end=\"1282\">At the same time, Sn-Pb solders used in HASL are not green. Degreasing<\/h3><p data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1922\">Good degreasing directly affects film quality. If degreasing is bad, film thickness will be uneven. To keep degreasing stable, control the chemical concentration in the cleaner within the process range. Also check degreasing performance often. If degreasing is poor, change the cleaner in time.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"1924\" data-end=\"1940\">2. Micro-etch<\/h3><p data-start=\"1941\" data-end=\"2293\">Micro-etch makes the copper surface slightly rough. This helps the film bond. The micro-etch thickness affects the film formation rate. To get a stable film thickness, keep the micro-etch depth stable. Usually keeping it around 1.0\u20131.5 \u03bcm is appropriate. You can measure the micro-etch rate before each shift, then set the micro-etch time by that rate.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"2295\" data-end=\"2315\">3. Film formation<\/h3><p data-start=\"2316\" data-end=\"2915\">Before film formation, rinse with DI water to avoid contaminating the film solution. After film formation, rinse with DI water again. Handle boards carefully in production and transport. Also, after many high-temperature soldering cycles, the OSP film on unused pads can discolor or crack. That affects solderability and reliability.<\/p><h2 data-start=\"3206\" data-end=\"3258\">PCB Production Requirements for OSP Surface Finish<\/h2><p data-start=\"3260\" data-end=\"3328\">Below are production and handling rules to keep OSP boards reliable.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"3330\" data-end=\"3372\">A. General production and storage rules<\/h3><ol data-start=\"3373\" data-end=\"4958\"><li data-start=\"3373\" data-end=\"3575\"><p data-start=\"3376\" data-end=\"3575\">PCBs with OSP should arrive in vacuum packaging. Include a desiccant and a humidity indicator card. During transit and storage, place isolation paper between boards to prevent friction damage to OSP.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"3577\" data-end=\"3755\"><p data-start=\"3580\" data-end=\"3755\">Do not expose boards to direct sunlight. Keep a proper warehouse environment. Relative humidity (RH): 30\u201370%. Temperature: 15\u201330 \u00b0C. Storage life should be less than 6 months.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"3757\" data-end=\"4119\"><p data-start=\"3760\" data-end=\"4119\">When unsealing the board at the SMT station, check vacuum packaging, desiccant, and humidity card. If they fail, return the boards to the PCB maker for rework before use. Put the board onto the line within 8 hours after opening. Do not open many packs at once. Follow the rule \u201copen as needed, produce as needed.\u201d Long exposure causes batch soldering defects.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"4121\" data-end=\"4288\"><p data-start=\"4124\" data-end=\"4288\">After stencil printing, pass the boards into the oven quickly. Do not let them sit. The maximum wait is 1 hour. Solder paste flux can strongly corrode the OSP film.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"4290\" data-end=\"4363\"><p data-start=\"4293\" data-end=\"4363\">Keep the workshop environment steady. RH 40\u201360%. Temperature 18\u201327 \u00b0C.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"4365\" data-end=\"4475\"><p data-start=\"4368\" data-end=\"4475\">During production, avoid touching the PCB surface with bare hands. SMT stencil design rules for OSP boards<\/h3><ol data-start=\"5006\" data-end=\"5820\"><li data-start=\"5006\" data-end=\"5257\"><p data-start=\"5009\" data-end=\"5257\">OSP boards are flat. That helps solder paste shape. But OSP pads cannot supply extra solder as HASL might. So enlarge stencil apertures slightly. This helps ensure solder covers the whole pad. When converting from HASL to OSP, redesign the stencil.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"5259\" data-end=\"5446\"><p data-start=\"5262\" data-end=\"5446\">After enlarging the aperture, deal with solder ball, tombstoning, and exposed copper by changing the stencil hole shape to a \u201cconcave\u201d design. This helps prevent solder ball formation.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"5448\" data-end=\"5571\"><p data-start=\"5451\" data-end=\"5571\">If a component placement fails and the part is missing, make sure solder paste still covers the pad as much as possible.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"5573\" data-end=\"5820\"><p data-start=\"5576\" data-end=\"5820\">To avoid exposed copper oxidation and reliability issues, consider printing solder paste on ICT test points, mounting screw holes, and exposed via pads (the backside can be wave soldered). Make sure to include these holes during stencil design.<\/p><\/li><\/ol><h3 data-start=\"5822\" data-end=\"5871\">C. Handling boards with bad solder paste print<\/h3><ol data-start=\"5872\" data-end=\"6513\"><li data-start=\"5872\" data-end=\"5940\"><p data-start=\"5875\" data-end=\"5940\">Try to avoid printing errors. Cleaning will damage the OSP layer.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"5942\" data-end=\"6299\"><p data-start=\"5945\" data-end=\"6299\">If a board has poor solder paste printing, do not soak or wash OSP boards with high-volatility solvents. Because the OSP film is easy to be eaten by organic solvents, use a non-woven cloth soaked in 75% ethanol to wipe off the paste. Then use an air blower to dry. Do not use isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to clean. From the time you open vacuum pack to the first reflow or to the time after the first reflow, the stay time must be controlled strictly. Otherwise the second reflow quality will be affected. After one reflow cycle, the organic protective film on the PCB surface is usually destroyed and the board loses oxidation protection. Then second reflow is harder. Also OSP surface finish tends to have poorer solder paste wetting than some other finishes. Solder joints can expose copper and reliability can fall. The solder appearance may not meet IPC Class 3 standard easily. Many products that use pin-in-paste (PIP) are not good matches for OSP.<\/p><p data-start=\"7251\" data-end=\"7422\">But OSP boards are flat and planar. Board manufacturing is stable and cost is low. Compared to others, OSP has clear advantages.
