Tambi\u00e9n se conoce como nivelaci\u00f3n de soldadura por aire caliente o nivelaci\u00f3n por aire caliente. En este proceso, se aplica soldadura fundida (que puede contener plomo) a la superficie de la placa de circuito impreso. A continuaci\u00f3n, se sopla aire caliente comprimido para nivelar la soldadura. El resultado es un revestimiento que protege el cobre de la oxidaci\u00f3n y proporciona una buena soldabilidad.<\/div><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\">Al nivelar con aire caliente, la soldadura y el cobre forman un compuesto intermet\u00e1lico de cobre y esta\u00f1o donde se unen. Para ello, la placa de circuito impreso se sumerge en soldadura fundida. Las cuchillas de aire soplan la soldadura l\u00edquida para aplanarla antes de que se enfr\u00ede. Las cuchillas de aire cortan la forma de menisco de la soldadura sobre el cobre e impiden que se formen puentes de soldadura.<\/div><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\">La idea b\u00e1sica es utilizar aire caliente para eliminar la soldadura sobrante de la superficie de la placa y de los orificios. Lo que queda es una capa uniforme de soldadura en los pads, las pistas expuestas y las tierras de montaje superficial. HASL es uno de los m\u00e9todos habituales de acabado de superficies de PCB.<\/div><h3 class=\"header-vfC6AV auto-hide-last-sibling-br\"><strong>Ventajas<\/strong><\/h3><ol class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br\"><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\">Despu\u00e9s de HASL, la composici\u00f3n del revestimiento de soldadura sigue siendo la misma. Por tanto, el revestimiento es consistente y la soldabilidad es buena. Por el contrario, los revestimientos galv\u00e1nicos de aleaci\u00f3n de plomo y esta\u00f1o pueden cambiar de composici\u00f3n a medida que cambia el ba\u00f1o de revestimiento. Esto significa que la relaci\u00f3n plomo\/esta\u00f1o en las capas metalizadas puede variar.<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\">Los m\u00e9todos de reflujo por infrarrojos o aceite caliente no protegen totalmente los bordes laterales de las trazas. HASL recubre y cubre totalmente los bordes laterales de las pistas. Esto evita la corrosi\u00f3n y la rotura de pistas en la placa de circuito impreso. Esto significa que las placas duran m\u00e1s tiempo almacenadas y en uso, y que los productos electr\u00f3nicos acabados son m\u00e1s fiables. HASL se utiliza ampliamente en los procesos SMT hoy en d\u00eda.<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\">Cambiando el \u00e1ngulo de la cuchilla de aire, la velocidad de elevaci\u00f3n de la placa y otros ajustes del proceso, puede controlar el grosor de la capa. Esto facilita la obtenci\u00f3n del espesor de capa de soldadura deseado. Es m\u00e1s flexible que algunos m\u00e9todos de fusi\u00f3n en caliente.<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\">Cuando las placas se fabrican mediante metalizado de patrones y grabado, la soldadura por ola puede provocar puentes porque la aleaci\u00f3n de plomo\/esta\u00f1o se asienta sobre las trazas. El flujo de la aleaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n puede arrugar o levantar la m\u00e1scara de soldadura. Las placas fabricadas con HASL no tienen soldadura en las pistas, por lo que se eliminan los puentes y las arrugas o desprendimientos de la m\u00e1scara.<\/div><\/li><\/ol><h3 class=\"header-vfC6AV auto-hide-last-sibling-br\"><strong>Desventajas<\/strong><\/h3><ol class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br\"><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\">Contaminaci\u00f3n por cobre del crisol de soldadura. En HASL, la placa se sumerge en el ba\u00f1o de soldadura durante varios segundos. Esto hace que el cobre se disuelva en la soldadura. Cuando el cobre alcanza aproximadamente 0,29% o m\u00e1s en la soldadura, \u00e9sta pierde parte de su capacidad de flujo. La capa de soldadura se vuelve semih\u00fameda y la soldabilidad de la placa disminuye.<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\">El plomo es un metal pesado y perjudicial para las personas y el medio ambiente. Eran habituales muchos revestimientos de soldaduras con plomo. Ahora se han desarrollado soldaduras sin plomo que se venden para sustituir a las aleaciones de plomo y esta\u00f1o en la producci\u00f3n.<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\">Alto coste de producci\u00f3n. Una buena m\u00e1quina HASL importada puede costar m\u00e1s de trescientos mil d\u00f3lares estadounidenses. Esto hace que el coste de producci\u00f3n de HASL sea superior al de algunos m\u00e9todos de fusi\u00f3n en caliente.<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\">Gran choque t\u00e9rmico en HASL. El gran cambio t\u00e9rmico puede deformar o doblar el sustrato de la placa de circuito impreso y la placa puede levantarse. Esto significa que HASL provoca un mayor estr\u00e9s t\u00e9rmico.<\/div><\/li><\/ol><h2 class=\"header-vfC6AV auto-hide-last-sibling-br\"><strong>Control y elecci\u00f3n de los par\u00e1metros del proceso HASL<\/strong><\/h2><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\">Los principales par\u00e1metros del proceso HASL incluyen la temperatura de la soldadura, el tiempo de inmersi\u00f3n, la presi\u00f3n de la cuchilla de aire, la temperatura de la cuchilla de aire, el \u00e1ngulo de la cuchilla de aire, la distancia entre las cuchillas de aire y la velocidad de subida de la placa. A continuaci\u00f3n se explica c\u00f3mo afectan estos par\u00e1metros a la calidad de la placa.<\/div><ol class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br\"><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\"><strong>Tiempo de inmersi\u00f3n<\/strong><br class=\"container-utlnW2 wrapper-d0Cc1k undefined\" \/>El tiempo de inmersi\u00f3n influye mucho en la calidad del revestimiento de la soldadura. Durante la inmersi\u00f3n, el cobre base y el esta\u00f1o de la soldadura forman un compuesto intermet\u00e1lico (IMC). Al mismo tiempo, se forma una capa de soldadura en las trazas. Todo este proceso suele necesitar de 2 a 4 segundos para formar un buen IMC. Cuanto m\u00e1s tiempo, m\u00e1s gruesa ser\u00e1 la soldadura. Pero si se sumerge demasiado tiempo, el material del n\u00facleo de la placa puede deslaminar y la m\u00e1scara de soldadura puede ampollarse. Si el tiempo es demasiado corto, se produce una humectaci\u00f3n parcial. Esto provoca un blanqueamiento local de la superficie de la soldadura y puede hacer que \u00e9sta se vuelva \u00e1spera.<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\"><strong>Temperatura del crisol de soldadura:<\/strong><br class=\"container-utlnW2 wrapper-d0Cc1k undefined\" \/>La soldadura com\u00fan utilizada para soldar placas de circuito impreso y componentes es la aleaci\u00f3n de plomo 37 \/ esta\u00f1o 63, cuyo punto de fusi\u00f3n es de 183\u00b0C. Cuando la temperatura de la soldadura est\u00e1 entre 183\u00b0C y 221\u00b0C, su capacidad para formar compuestos intermet\u00e1licos con el cobre es peque\u00f1a. A 221\u00b0C, la soldadura entra en el rango de humectaci\u00f3n. El rango de humectaci\u00f3n es de 221\u00b0C a 293\u00b0C. Debido a que las altas temperaturas pueden da\u00f1ar la placa, se debe elegir una temperatura de soldadura m\u00e1s baja en el rango de humectaci\u00f3n. En teor\u00eda, 232\u00b0C es la mejor temperatura de soldadura. En la pr\u00e1ctica, la mejor temperatura suele ser 250\u00b0C.<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\"><strong>Presi\u00f3n del cuchillo de aire:<\/strong><br class=\"container-utlnW2 wrapper-d0Cc1k undefined\" \/>Despu\u00e9s de la inmersi\u00f3n, una gran cantidad de soldadura permanece en la placa y la mayor\u00eda de los agujeros pasantes chapados se llenan de soldadura. Las cuchillas de aire est\u00e1n ah\u00ed para soplar la soldadura sobrante y abrir los orificios pasantes chapados sin que los di\u00e1metros de los orificios sean demasiado peque\u00f1os. La energ\u00eda necesaria para ello proviene de la presi\u00f3n y la velocidad del aire. Cuanto mayor sea la presi\u00f3n y m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido sea el aire, m\u00e1s fina ser\u00e1 la capa de soldadura. Por lo tanto, la presi\u00f3n de la cuchilla de aire es uno de los par\u00e1metros HASL m\u00e1s importantes. Normalmente, la presi\u00f3n del aire-cuchilla es de 0,3-0,5 MPa.<\/div><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\">La presi\u00f3n antes y despu\u00e9s de la cuchilla suele ajustarse de modo que la parte delantera sea m\u00e1s alta y la trasera m\u00e1s baja. La diferencia de presi\u00f3n es de unos 0,05 MPa. Puede ajustar la presi\u00f3n delantera y trasera en funci\u00f3n de los patrones de las almohadillas de la placa para mantener planas las zonas de CI y evitar que las piezas SMT sobresalgan. Consulte el manual de la m\u00e1quina para conocer los valores exactos recomendados.<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\"><strong>Temperatura del cuchillo de aire:<\/strong><br class=\"container-utlnW2 wrapper-d0Cc1k undefined\" \/>El aire caliente del cuchillo de aire no cambia mucho la temperatura de la placa y no afecta mucho a la presi\u00f3n del aire. Pero el aumento de la temperatura interna de la cuchilla de aire ayuda a que el aire se expanda. As\u00ed, a la misma presi\u00f3n, una mayor temperatura del aire proporciona un mayor volumen de aire y una mayor velocidad. Esto hace que la fuerza de nivelaci\u00f3n sea mayor. La temperatura de la cuchilla de aire tambi\u00e9n afecta a la apariencia de la soldadura despu\u00e9s del enderezado. Cuando la temperatura del aire es inferior a 93\u00b0C, la capa tiene un aspecto mate. A medida que aumenta la temperatura del aire, el aspecto mate se reduce. A 176\u00b0C el aspecto mate desaparece por completo. Por lo tanto, la temperatura de la cuchilla de aire no debe ser inferior a 176\u00b0C. Para obtener una buena soldadura plana, la temperatura del cuchillo de aire suele estar entre 300\u00b0C y 400\u00b0C.<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\"><strong>Distancia entre cuchillas de aire:<\/strong><br class=\"container-utlnW2 wrapper-d0Cc1k undefined\" \/>Cuando el aire caliente sale de la tobera de las cuchillas de aire, su velocidad disminuye. La ralentizaci\u00f3n aumenta con el cuadrado de la distancia entre las cuchillas. Por tanto, cuanto mayor sea la separaci\u00f3n, menor ser\u00e1 la velocidad del aire y m\u00e1s d\u00e9bil la fuerza de nivelaci\u00f3n. La distancia t\u00edpica entre las boquillas de las cuchillas de aire es de 0,95-1,25 cm. No deje una distancia demasiado peque\u00f1a entre las boquillas, ya que la fricci\u00f3n del aire podr\u00eda da\u00f1ar la superficie del tablero. La separaci\u00f3n entre las cuchillas de aire superior e inferior suele ser de unos 4 mm. Una separaci\u00f3n demasiado grande puede provocar salpicaduras de soldadura.<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\"><strong>\u00c1ngulo de la cuchilla de aire:<\/strong><br class=\"container-utlnW2 wrapper-d0Cc1k undefined\" \/>El \u00e1ngulo de la cuchilla afecta al grosor de la capa de soldadura. Si el \u00e1ngulo es incorrecto, los dos lados de la placa pueden obtener espesores de soldadura diferentes. Un \u00e1ngulo incorrecto tambi\u00e9n puede hacer que la soldadura fundida salpique y haga ruido. Normalmente las cuchillas de aire delantera y trasera est\u00e1n inclinadas hacia abajo unos 4 grados. Aj\u00fastelo ligeramente seg\u00fan la forma de la placa y la disposici\u00f3n de los pads.<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\"><strong>Velocidad de subida de la tabla (velocidad del transportador o del elevador):<\/strong><br class=\"container-utlnW2 wrapper-d0Cc1k undefined\" \/>Otra variable es la velocidad a la que el cart\u00f3n se desplaza por las cuchillas de aire. La velocidad afecta al grosor del revestimiento. Una velocidad lenta significa que el tablero recibe m\u00e1s aire, por lo que el revestimiento es m\u00e1s fino. A mayor velocidad, el revestimiento es m\u00e1s grueso y puede llegar a tapar agujeros.<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\"><strong>Precaliente la temperatura y el tiempo:<\/strong><br class=\"container-utlnW2 wrapper-d0Cc1k undefined\" \/>El precalentamiento tiene por objeto activar el fundente y reducir el choque t\u00e9rmico. La temperatura t\u00edpica de precalentamiento es de 343\u00b0C. Con 15 segundos de precalentamiento, la superficie de la placa puede alcanzar unos 80\u00b0C. Algunas l\u00edneas HASL no utilizan un paso de precalentamiento.<\/div><\/li><\/ol><div class=\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\">A continuaci\u00f3n encontrar\u00e1 una tabla clara que resume los par\u00e1metros clave del proceso HASL, los rangos recomendados y unas breves notas. For the process, the PCB is dipped into molten solder. The air knives blow the liquid solder flat before it cools. The air knives cut down the meniscus shape of solder on copper and stop solder bridges from forming.<\\\/div><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\">The basic idea is to use hot air to remove extra solder from the board surface and from holes. What stays is a uniform solder layer on pads, exposed traces, and surface mount lands. HASL is one of the common PCB surface finish methods.<\\\/div><h3 class=\\\"header-vfC6AV auto-hide-last-sibling-br\\\"><strong>Advantages<\\\/strong><\\\/h3><ol class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br\\\"><li><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\">After HASL, the composition of the solder coating stays the same. So the coating is consistent and solderability is good. By contrast, electroplated lead-tin alloy coatings can change composition as the plating bath changes. That means the lead\\\/tin ratio in plated layers can vary.<\\\/div><\\\/li><li><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\">Infrared or hot-oil reflow methods do not fully protect the side edges of traces. HASL coats and fully covers the side edges of traces. This prevents corrosion and broken traces on the PCB. That means boards last longer in storage and use, and the finished electronic products are more reliable. HASL is widely used in SMT processes today.<\\\/div><\\\/li><li><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\">By changing the air-knife angle, the board rise speed, and other process settings, you can control coating thickness. That makes it easy to get the solder layer thickness you want. It is more flexible than some hot-melt methods.<\\\/div><\\\/li><li><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\">When boards are made by pattern plating and etching, wave soldering can cause bridging because lead\\\/tin alloy sits on traces. The alloy flow can also wrinkle or lift solder mask. Boards made with HASL have no solder on traces, so bridging and mask wrinkling or peeling are eliminated.<\\\/div><\\\/li><\\\/ol><h3 class=\\\"header-vfC6AV auto-hide-last-sibling-br\\\"><strong>Disadvantages<\\\/strong><\\\/h3><ol class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br\\\"><li><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\">Copper contamination of the solder pot. In HASL the board is dipped in the solder pot for several seconds. That causes copper to dissolve into the solder. When copper reaches about 0.29% or higher in the solder, the solder loses some flow ability. The solder coating becomes semi-wetting and the board solderability drops.<\\\/div><\\\/li><li><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\">Lead is a heavy metal and it is harmful to people and to the environment. Many solder coatings with lead were common. Now lead-free solders have been developed and are sold to replace lead-tin alloys in production.<\\\/div><\\\/li><li><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\">High production cost. A good imported HASL machine can cost more than three hundred thousand US dollars. This makes HASL production cost higher than some hot-melt methods.<\\\/div><\\\/li><li><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\">Large thermal shock in HASL. The big heat change can warp or bow the PCB substrate and the board can lift. That means HASL causes larger thermal stress.<\\\/div><\\\/li><\\\/ol><h2 class=\\\"header-vfC6AV auto-hide-last-sibling-br\\\"><strong>Control and choice of HASL process parameters<\\\/strong><\\\/h2><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\">The main HASL process parameters include solder temperature, dip time, air-knife pressure, air-knife temperature, air-knife angle, distance between air knives, and board rise speed. Below is an explanation of how these parameters affect board quality.<\\\/div><ol class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br\\\"><li><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\"><strong>Dip time (immersion time):<\\\/strong><br class=\\\"container-utlnW2 wrapper-d0Cc1k undefined\\\" \\\/>Dip time has a big effect on solder coating quality. In dipping, the base copper and the tin in the solder form an intermetallic compound (IMC). At the same time a solder layer forms on traces. This whole process usually needs 2\\u20134 seconds to make good IMC. The longer the time, the thicker the solder. But if you dip too long, the board core material can delaminate and the solder mask can blister. If time is too short, you get partial wetting. That causes local whitening of the solder surface and can make the solder surface rough.<\\\/div><\\\/li><li><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\"><strong>Solder pot temperature:<\\\/strong><br class=\\\"container-utlnW2 wrapper-d0Cc1k undefined\\\" \\\/>The common solder used for soldering PCBs and components is lead 37 \\\/ tin 63 alloy, whose melting point is 183\\u00b0C. When the solder temp is between 183\\u00b0C and 221\\u00b0C, its ability to form intermetallic compounds with copper is small. At 221\\u00b0C the solder enters the wetting range. The wetting range is 221\\u00b0C to 293\\u00b0C. Because high temperature can damage the board, you should pick a lower solder temp in the wetting range. Theoretical work finds 232\\u00b0C as the best solder temperature. In practice, about 250\\u00b0C is often used as the best temperature.<\\\/div><\\\/li><li><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\"><strong>Air-knife pressure:<\\\/strong><br class=\\\"container-utlnW2 wrapper-d0Cc1k undefined\\\" \\\/>After dipping, a lot of solder stays on the board and most plated through holes get filled with solder. The air knives are there to blow off extra solder and to open up the plated through holes without making hole diameters too small. The energy to do that comes from air-knife pressure and air speed. The higher the pressure and the faster the air, the thinner the solder coating. So air-knife pressure is one of the most important HASL parameters. Usually air-knife pressure is 0.3\\u20130.5 MPa.<\\\/div><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\">Pressure before and after the knife is usually set so the front is higher and the back is lower. The pressure difference is about 0.05 MPa. You can adjust front and back pressure based on pad patterns on the board to keep IC areas flat and to avoid SMT parts from sticking up. Check the machine manual for exact recommended values.<\\\/div><\\\/li><li><div class=\\\"auto-hide-last-sibling-br paragraph-JOTKXA paragraph-element br-paragraph-space\\\"><strong>Air-knife temperature:<\\\/strong><br class=\\\"container-utlnW2 wrapper-d0Cc1k undefined\\\" \\\/>Hot air from the air knife does not change board temperature much and it does not affect air pressure much. But raising air-knife internal temperature helps air expand. So at the same pressure, higher air temperature gives a larger air volume and faster speed. That makes stronger leveling force. Air-knife temperature also affects the appearance of the solder after leveling. When air-knife temp is below 93\\u00b0C, the layer looks dull. As air temp rises, the dull look reduces. At 176\\u00b0C the dull look goes away completely. So the air-knife temperature should not be below 176\\u00b0C. The gap between upper and lower air knives is usually kept around 4 mm.
