What is a quick-turn PCB?

A quick-turn PCB is a custom printed circuit board produced through an accelerated fabrication service. The term describes the schedule, rather than a particular material, layer count or circuit design. An urgent prototype and an urgent repeat order can both be reviewed for a quick-turn route.

The useful question is when your team needs the boards in hand. That date connects engineering review, material availability, manufacturing, inspection and transport. Tell us whether you are working toward an assembly booking, a lab test or a customer delivery; we can review the plan around that milestone.

Where a faster PCB build can help

A design revision before testing

A changed layout or connector needs physical boards before the next lab slot. Share the revision, quantity and date so we can assess the fabrication route.

Boards for an assembly booking

Bare boards need to arrive before components are fitted. We can discuss individual-board or panel delivery around your assembly plan.

A time-sensitive repeat order

A released design may need replenishment or an initial quantity sooner. Provide the previous order or approved revision so the team can review continuity and timing.

PCB options for a time-sensitive project

FLJ’s manufacturing range includes rigid, multilayer, HDI, flex, rigid-flex and specialist boards. The expedited options for your project are reviewed against its construction and available materials; a general capability limit does not by itself establish an urgent delivery date.

What determines a quick-turn PCB schedule?

We review the drawing and fabrication data against the process the board actually needs. Standard, available materials and a settled design can help shorten the path; specialist constructions need their own engineering and production assessment.

Material and stackup

A nominated RF laminate or unusual dielectric may have a different sourcing path from standard FR4. Tell us which properties are essential and where alternatives are possible.

Layers, vias and finishing

Sequential lamination, filled and capped vias, heavy copper, backdrilling or a specialist finish add operations. They belong in the build plan even when the order is urgent.

Quantity and panel format

Board area, panel yield and the number of production panels affect scheduling. If a smaller first shipment could help, ask us to evaluate it with the full order.

Inspection and release

Impedance targets, acceptance needs and requested records are part of the schedule. We discuss them alongside manufacturing rather than after the boards are ready.

Board construction determines the fabrication route

We can discuss a feasible target once the board and material route have been reviewed. Any change to a critical material, geometry or test requirement is agreed with your team; speed is assessed around the circuit’s needs.

Engineering support that helps the build move forward

Start with your current board files. Our engineers check the fabrication information, raise the questions that matter and help you resolve them before the manufacturing revision is released.

Copper and holes

Review spacing, pad rings, plated holes, slots and non-plated openings against copper weight and board depth.

Layer order and impedance

Connect the artwork, stackup and any impedance notes so the intended construction is clear.

Panel and surface details

Discuss handling rails, separation, mask openings and finish with your next assembly or test step.

A clear revision to build

Keep the agreed manufacturing files together. Tell us about a late change promptly so we can review its effect on the current build.

You do not need to organize every detail before contacting us. If the package is incomplete, send what you have and describe the deadline. We will follow up with the useful questions and help you work toward the build information.

From your target date to an agreed build

Quick-turn work combines responsive engineering with a manufacturing and shipping plan. We connect the agreed specification with the milestones your team needs to track.

  1. 01

    Tell us the deadline

Share the board, quantity, destination and required arrival date if known.

  2. 02

    Review the route

Discuss engineering questions, materials and the available fabrication options.

  3. 03

    Confirm the build

Agree the revision, quotation and manufacturing schedule for the order.

  4. 04

    Fabricate and inspect

Build through the selected process and complete the agreed checks.

  5. 05

    Dispatch and follow up

Arrange packing and carrier handoff with the agreed shipping plan.

The inspection belongs in the schedule

An urgent board still needs inspection suited to the agreed specification. Bare-board electrical testing checks connectivity and isolation; visual and dimensional checks address the finished board features.

Flying-probe or fixture-based electrical testing can be selected for the board and quantity. If controlled impedance or a particular verification record matters to your application, tell us early so its method and reporting can be included in the plan.

Bare-board electrical test results do not prove assembled-product function. Power-up, firmware and application tests belong to the populated-board evaluation. For supplier qualification, we can discuss the relevant company documents and board acceptance requirements separately.

Plan the journey from our factory to your team

Circuit boards being handled beside protective shipping bags
Protective handling and packing for shipment

Share the shipping destination and the date the boards are needed in hand. We can review DHL, FedEx or UPS express options, your carrier account, or collection through a nominated freight forwarder with the order.

  • Factory dispatch: boards packed and handed to the carrier or your forwarder.
  • Transport: carrier routing, transit and destination customs clearance.
  • Your receiving date: arrival at the address your team will use.

A short fabrication time is only one part of an overseas delivery. Carrier estimates, weekends, holidays and clearance can affect receipt. We confirm the shipping arrangement with you rather than treat factory completion as delivery to your door.

Compare the schedule with the cost

An expedited quote should help you decide whether the earlier shipment is worth the additional production or transport cost. Tell us what can change and what the circuit needs to keep.

Keep the critical specification

Preserve the material grade, copper, via treatment or impedance requirement when it affects validation or product performance.

Discuss practical alternatives

If the design allows an available laminate or different finish, our team can review it with you. Material substitutions are agreed before the build.

Prioritize the quantity you need

If only some boards are needed for the first milestone, ask about a staged shipment. Feasibility, extra handling and freight are reviewed before agreement.

We quote the actual construction and schedule. There is no single rush-price percentage that describes every PCB, and a shorter quoted manufacturing time should be assessed with the shipping plan.

Need assembled boards on the same deadline?

This page covers expedited bare-board fabrication. When your deadline is for populated boards, component availability, assembly, inspection and any functional test also need to be scheduled.

Quick-turn PCB FAQs

Can you manufacture my PCB in 24 hours?

Send the design, quantity and target date for review. Whether a 24-hour or another expedited route is feasible depends on materials, construction, available production capacity and inspection. We confirm the schedule for the actual order; factory completion and arrival at your address are separate dates.

When does the quoted PCB build time start?

The quotation or order confirmation should identify the starting milestone, the released revision and the dispatch target. Engineering questions, material availability and order arrangements are resolved as part of that plan. Contact us early if your target is a required arrival date rather than a factory shipping date.

Can multilayer, HDI or flexible boards be reviewed for quick-turn fabrication?

Yes. Send the construction and date you need so we can assess the route. Layer count alone does not determine timing; via structure, materials, filling, lamination and inspection also matter. General manufacturing capability figures are not universal expedited-service limits.

Can I contact you before the fabrication package is complete?

Yes. Send the current design or drawings and describe the project. Our team will help identify the information useful for a quote and follow up on the details needed to manufacture the agreed revision.

Does quick-turn fabrication cost more than a standard build?

Expedited scheduling or shipping may add cost. The amount is quoted for your board, quantity and delivery route. If there is flexibility in the schedule or specification, we can discuss options so you can compare cost with the earlier delivery milestone.

Can you use an alternative material to shorten the schedule?

We can review alternatives if your design allows them. The electrical, thermal and mechanical requirements guide suitability, and any substitution is discussed with your team before approval. A readily available material is useful only if it serves the purpose of the board.

Can I use my own shipping account or freight forwarder?

Yes. Tell us the carrier account or nominated forwarder arrangement, delivery destination and collection needs. We can coordinate it with the order and confirm the handoff plan. Carrier transit and destination clearance remain separate from the fabrication schedule.

Is quick-turn PCB fabrication the same as quick-turn PCB assembly?

No. Fabrication produces the bare printed circuit board. Assembly adds components, soldering and the agreed assembly inspection or tests. If you need populated boards, we review component readiness and assembly timing alongside fabrication; a BOM is not needed for bare-board manufacture.
